Abortion....Biblical?

Recently I did a report for TCC. It was about the effects of having an abortion. During my research, I found a few disturbing sites. These sites claim that the Bible is an abortion advocate. I read what they have to say, and it was pretty crazy. I would also like to let you know that according to them, anyone who is pro-life is a sinner. Apparently we pro-life people are “idolaters and blasphemers.”

There is one article in particular that I am going to look at. It was written by a woman by the name of Miss Poppy Dixon. She says that we are idolaters and blasphemers because we believe in life at conception. She believes that a baby is not alive until it takes its first breath. She backs this statement up with the creation of Adam. It says in Genesis 2:7 that (God)”breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” Yes, this was Adam’s first breath, but Adam was not formed in a womb. Adam’s body was created, then God gave it life. Basically, God hit the “on switch” for all of Adam’s organs. However, a baby’s heart starts working by day 35. A baby’s mind and DNA is formed when the male and female cell start the procreation cycle, conception. Every organ is present by the end of the second month. Adam’s organs were present too, but they weren’t “on” yet. Adam’s organs turned on when God breathed into him, but a baby’s organs are “on” before it takes its first breath.

She says that Psalms 139:13-16 is actually misused. She says that this verse only proves that we exists as a blueprint. However, look at the last sentence. “And in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” This part proves that we have a purpose before we are even born or conceived. God makes us for a reason. We were written about in God’s book of “individual anatomy.” God made us intentionally. Only by God can a woman become pregnant; it is not up to us to decide if she should be pregnant or not. It’s God’s choice! “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord.”[1]

Another argument is that we are “re-born”, not “re-conceived”. Well, she has no idea about baptism. Being bowed into the water represents going into the womb. In that womb is the cleansing blood of Christ. We are reborn clean. Birth is a process starting at conception. The church “plants the seed”, and God “cultivates the plant.” Basically, the church body tells the unsaved of Christ. Then, through the blood of Christ and the body of the church, we are reborn. God compares His relationship to the church as a marriage.[2] This marriage produces more reborn believers.

She uses this verse in her argument: “yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.”[3] If a fetus is not alive, then how can you slay that which is not living? To slay means to kill or defeat.

Here is a verse that relates to abortion as birth control: “Shall I give my first born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”[4]

In all actuality, her views are blasphemous and idolatry. She basically says that the baby starts its own life by BREATHING. She does not give God the credit for its miraculous creation. The sad thing is that she is not the only one that believes this mess. There are a lot of Christians who have been fooled by this nonsense.

It's Not Too Late

If you have had an abortion you can still be saved. No sin is too great for the blood of Christ to cover. Even people like Ted Bundy and BTK can be saved.

This is all you have to do to get salvation, it’s very simple:

Believe with all your heart that Christ died on the cross and rose again in order to save your life from eternal pain. Secondly, admit that you are a sinner and that you need Christ in order to change and save your life. Thirdly, ask for forgiveness for all that you have done wrong.

If you followed those three steps, then you are saved. Welcome to the family of Christ!

Redemption

If you are involved with this life-style, there is still hope for you. Your sin is no greater than a lie or murder in God’s eyes. God sees sin equally.

If you are not saved, you still can be saved. Jesus died on the cross for everyone. We are all sinners, but Christ’s blood purifies those who believe in Him. He gave His life in order to save ours. If you are not saved and want to be, then follow these three steps:

Believe with all your heart that Christ died on the cross and rose again in order to save your life from eternal pain. Secondly, admit that you are a sinner and that you need Christ in order to change and save your life. Thirdly, ask for forgiveness for all that you have done wrong.

If you followed those three steps, then you are saved. Welcome to the family of Christ!

If you are saved but live the homosexual life-style, then ask God for help. With God anything is possible. You might not have the strength to pull yourself out of your sin, but God has plenty of strength to lend.

Homosexuality, Part 2

In the last paper, I gave clear evidence that homosexuality is wrong, according to the Bible. However, with each of those verses, these gay-Christians have a rebuttal. The following is not all of the rebuttals, but it is enough for you to get a good idea of the reasoning of gay-Christians.

(These are the responses presented by Ken-z of My-space, however she is not the only person who uses these rebuttals/arguments.)

I Corinthians 6: 9 rebuttal:

“There are two words which appear to have been mistranslated. Malakee (effeminate) which appears in I Corinthians, and arsenokeeteh (abusers of themselves with mankind) which appears in both I Corinthians and I Timothy. The Greek term malakee is used elsewhere in the Bible to mean someone who lacks discipline or one who is morally weak, and never is it used in reference to sexuality or gender. It wasn't until 1946 that malakee was given a sexual connotation when it was translated to mean "sexual perverts" in the Revised Standard Version. The second term arsenokeeteh literally means "male- active-bed". Unfortunately, arsenokeeteh has been interpreted by some to mean homosexual. The term arsenokeeteh is obscure, as evidenced by the variety of interpretations it has been assigned throughout history (including "people with infamous habits", and "child molesters"). If Paul was addressing male homosexuality why did he choose such an obscure word when there were Greek words that were more commonly used to describe homosexual behavior? Given Paul's concern with temple prostitution, wouldn't it make more sense to assume that "male-active-bed" was a reference to the male cult prostitution that was prevalent in Greco- Roman culture at that time?”

Romans 1: 26 rebuttal:

“In the preceding passage the Greek words physin and paraphysin have been translated to mean natural and unnatural respectively. Contrary to popular belief, the word paraphysin does not mean "to go against the laws of nature", but rather implies action which is uncharacteristic for that person. An example of the word paraphysin is used in Romans 11:24, where God acts in an uncharacteristic (paraphysin) way to accept the Gentiles. When the scripture is understood correctly, it seems to imply that it would be unnatural for heterosexuals to live as homosexuals, and for homosexuals to live as heterosexuals.”

This is what they believe about our Bibles:

(What I wrote)
O well, back to translations. Believe what you want to. God made the people that He used to translate the Bible. Do you think He would have made them to cause error during that translation? I don't think God would allow a highly used Bible or Bibles to go around with the wrong interpretation.(Her response)”Well I believe it happened. The man that canonized the bible was a pagan until he died and accepted Christ on his death bed. He organized Christianity to fit his empire so that the Christians and pagans wouldn't split his empire. Throughout history the bible has been used wrongly and formed it to fit their beliefs. Books have been burned and left out. And there are places in the bible that have been proven to been manipulated. One is the prostitute Mary Magdalene who was never a prostitute yet Roman Catholic church denounced her because she was gaining too much power.”

Some Thoughts:

You can believe in all these “mistakes” or “translation errors” if you want. To let you all know, I don’t believe this nonsense. God creates everyone, and he knows who to use for His work. To say that all of the mainstream Bibles are fraud is to say that God made a mistake in choosing who to let translate it. This would also mean that God has left us in the dark with out His word.

The Bible says nothing positive about homosexuality. It never sets up laws on how to have a gay marriage.

Homosexuality is a dead end. The only thing it accomplishes is that it gives “pleasure” to those who like it. God said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”[1] Homosexuality does not follow that commandment. Homosexuality does not produce children. However, it does produce sinful “pleasure” and disease.

(This commandment is not just given to Adam and Eve: Genesis 8: 17, Genesis 9: 1, Genesis 35: 11)

There is an overlying problem with their way of thinking. The next post is going to be about abortion. Let’s see if you can pick up on the similarities between the two groups thought problems.

Homosexuality

Alright, this is going to be a large multi-post project. It should span over 4-5 posts. For the past week I have been having a conversation with a Homosexual-Christian on My-Space. Yes, you read that correctly. These Christians believe that homosexuality is not a sin, and they believe that God created it to be enjoyed by all. Well, these 4-5 posts are going to show you that they are wrong. I would hope through this sharing of knowledge that you shall never befall the same fate of these people.

Homosexuality in the Bible:

Homosexuality is a sin. It is stated in the Bible that is sin. We all sin, but are you proud of it? Well, these people are. Homosexuality is a life-style and is “unnatural”.

"Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." (Leviticus 18:22)

“who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1: 25-32)

“Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated? No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” (I Corinthians 6: 7-11 NKJV)

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (II Timothy 3:1-7 KJV)

Homosexual Marriage:

Okay, we just established that homosexuality is wrong. Now we are going to look at homosexual marriage.

If homosexuality is wrong, then gay marriage cannot be right either. In fact, gay marriage defies God. God set up marriage of man and woman, not man and man or woman and woman. If we allow gay marriage, we defy God. Marriage is the union of two flesh as one. It is a commitment, a promise, a vow to live your life together as one.

"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (Genesis 2: 24 NKJV)

The Bible does not say, "Therefore a man shall leave his parents and be joined to his husband, and they shall become one flesh."

It is wrong for us to support the legalization or acceptance of sin. This is why:

“who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:32 NKJV)

To allow homosexual marriage redefines marriage. I recently heard that Canada was thinking about abolishing marriage. Why? Because they allowed gay marriage and now they wonder “Why do we even need marriage?” This same thought will creep into America if we allow gay marriage.

God made us to be good stewards of the earth.[1] We can only be good stewards if we follow his commandments. If you believe, like I, that the Bible is 100% true without blemish, then you now know that we cannot support gay marriage.[2] Gay marriage defies God and is unnatural.

Why Should I Care?

Recently I have heard people say “It’s not mine, why should I care what happens to it?” I can’t stand that line. This is the way of the world, but it should not be the way of Christians. This quote shows selfishness and disregard for others. This is not the way of Christ.

As Christians we are to think of God first, others second, and ourselves last.

Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22: 37-39)

That means his stuff should be just as important as yours. You should treat his belongings with care just as you treat your own items. All that we own is “on loan” from God. God gives us and everyone else what they own. What I own is no more important that what you own. It is all equal.

Being able to treat people as yourself deals with love and respect. If you have true love and respect for someone else, you will care for them. You will not want to hurt them in anyway. You will look after them and protect them. Christ commands us to love everyone, even those who do us wrong.[1] Showing equal love to all is the best way to be a good witness, and by doing that, people know that we are followers of Christ.[2]

Always There

God is always with us. He goes everywhere we go and sees everything we see. He knows every man’s action and thoughts. He is omnipotent, and He is our creator. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Throughout the Bible there are many examples of God helping people. God warned Noah of the upcoming flood, and safely guided Noah’s ship to safety.[1] God worked through Moses and set His people free from Egyptian slavery. God then took care of the Israelites while they traveled through the desert.[2] God protected David quite a few times. God was there when David fought Goliath, was attacked by Saul, was followed by Saul, etc.[3] God fed Elijah “bread and meat” by ravens.[4] These are just a few examples of God’s presence in people’s lives.

Not only does God exist everywhere, but also inside the body of every believer. You know of what I speak. I am talking about the Holy Spirit, which is part of the trinity of God.[5] Your body is a “temple” were the Holy Ghost resides.[6]

Remember, God is always there, watching our every thought and action. He cares for us deeply and hopes that we will make the right choices. No matter where we go in life, we are never alone.

Did You Know?

Did you know that everyday there is someone out there who loves you? Did you know that that Person’s biggest wish is for you to acknowledge Him?

This person that I speak of showed His ultimate love by dying in order to give you a chance to live. He was beaten, spit on, and died for you, me, and everyone else. His name, you ask, is Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God, Lord of Lords, and the Savior of all man kind.
-
If you would like to accept His gift of salvation, just follow these three easy steps:

You have to believe with all your heart that He died on the cross and rose again in order to save your life from eternal pain. Secondly, you need to admit that you are a sinner and that you need Him in your life. Thirdly, you need to ask for forgiveness for all that you have done wrong.

It’s just that easy. Christ did not make salvation hard, for He wanted everyone to have an equal chance to get to heaven.

These are some helpful verses that talk about salvation.

The Human Choice

Have you ever had someone ask you “Why does God send people to hell?” or “If God loves everyone, why do people go to hell?” This has been something I have heard on numerous occasions. People mainly use this thought to claim that either a. God does not love everyone or b. God is a hypocrite. However, if these people were to read the Bible, they would know why God is not the one to send us to hell.

First of all, I must say that God does not send people to hell. We all have the choice to believe in Christ as our personal savior. In order to go to heaven you must ask forgiveness of your sins and acknowledge God as your personal savior.[1] Christ did not sacrifice His life for nothing. If we do not “know” the Father through the Son, then we can not reside with the Father after death.[2] If you choose not to reside with your Creator, you have but one place to stay, hell.[3] God does not send us to hell, some of us choose to go there. God has given us the power of choice, and with that we choose our afterlife. What do you think should happen to a creation that chooses to deny its Creator?

God does love everyone, and He is not a hypocrite. Just because He loves us doesn’t mean He makes the choice for us. He has told us the two choices, and now it is up to us to embrace Him or turn our backs on Him. God is not a hypocrite for He proved His love through His Son. Christ paved the way for us to get to heaven. Heaven is perfect and without sin. Earth is sinful and without perfection. Without Him, we could not enter heaven shrouded in sin. Heaven’s gates are like an airport’s metal detector. Christ’s blood purifies us and allows us to walk through heaven’s sin detecting gates.

This whole degeneration happened when Satan choose to defy God. Satan has already made his choice. He is like a captain on sinking ship that is trying to take as many passengers down with him. I warn you not to be fooled by his lies. How is it that a creation can defy an omnipotent creator? We have no earthly or supernatural powers that come anywhere close to God’s, and neither does Satan. The thought of defeating God is preposterous.

The fact is that we were created by God and were given two choices. We can acknowledge Him as our Creator and Christ as our savior, or we don’t. God did not make us like preprogrammed robots, and he did not make us instinctive like animals. He made us liken to His image.[4] He gave us the power of free will and choice. It is what we do with this power that determines the outcome.

A Father’s Love

Most of us NFC guys are looking at being fathers in the next few years. However, fatherhood is no easy task. There are a few things that we need to know. This paper is based on majorities, but do not count it the same for each family. Each family is different and has different circumstances surrounding it. My main focus is going to be on Proverbs 13: 24 NKJ: “He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.” (Keep in mind that this paper applies to children 2-12, not young adults.)

The parents who do not punish their children either do not love them or do not realize what will happen in the future. If a parent does not care for his children, then he will not care about what they do. Their actions will not matter to him unless they are bothering him. The other group says, “I love my children, so I won’t punish them.” This is a foolish thought. If you do not punish your children they will never learn right from wrong. You will later find out that you have lost control of them, and they rule over you. They will not listen to you as young adults for you did not take action while they were young. What teacher will you listen to, one who will punish you or the one that makes an occasional idle threat of a detention? These children tend to grow up and become prima-donna or spoiled brats.

Interaction is also an important part of a child’s life. They need attention from their parents, but too much or too little is also bad. No attention at all will hurt the child’s emotional growth. If you love your kids, then you will interact with them and play with them. You can tell your kids you love them, but the time you spend with them really shows your love. Try to smile and act on your best behavior while they are around. Be a good example, for young kids tend to learn through the “copy-cat” mentality.

To punish your children too harsh is also wrong. My mom has always said, “There is a fine line between abuse and punishment.” This is true. If you do too little, the child will not learn his lesson. On the other hand, if you do too much, it becomes abusive. Typically true abusive parents are releasing anger on the child or they go into a rage when their child screws up. This will result in abusive or reclusive kids when they grow up. Yet again, not the way to treat your kids if you love them.

The only way to truly deal with your kids in a loving way is to punish them. Punishment allows them to learn not to do things and teaches them right from wrong. They will also have respect for their parents. I remember when I would say something bad as a kid; my dad would slide soap over my tongue. I learned fast not to say bad words. However, you can’t only punish your kids. Occasionally, when they do good, reward them, but do not reward them so much that they expect it. Try to keep it random and spread out. This is the hardest road to follow, but if you can do it, you and your kids will not regret it.

Now, you must remember that each child is different, and no two are alike. Each has their own different personality and pain tolerance. You must take into account each aspect of the child before deciding on a punishment. What works on one child might be too much on another child. You make every choice of parenthood with wisdom. The child’s development is also affected by circumstances. Illnesses and death play a big role in a child’s development too. Just because you followed the right path does not always guarantee success, but it shows the best chances for success.

When the child becomes a young adult, it may be wise to “loosen up”. This means that you must give them more freedom and not punish them for little things. Save punishments for big things, like drugs or immoral behavior. This idea worked with me, but each kid is different. What works with one does not always work with another. You do not want to be too strict, for the time to get the kid’s respect is during childhood, and at some point, that kid must take flight on his own. I dunno, just a thought.

Basically, if you love your kids, you will want what is best for them. In the long run, punishment is the best thing you can do for your kids. They will learn right and wrong and will respect you. Their childhood will be safer, and they will thank you when they get older. I understand why my father punished me as a child, and I thank him for helping me be who I am today. If he had treated me any other way, I could have become a spoiled brat, hyper aggressive, or a jerk. Thanks, Dad.
