True Ambition

What is true ambition? Throughout human history, there have been many forms of ambition. People have wanted more money, power, land, fame, honor, and some have even wanted to rule the world. Yet, with all this said, is any of it true ambition?

If you are a Christian then your only ambition should be following God. God wants us to focus on His will, not man’s will. Man’s will is of the flesh and is corrupt.[1] We also should not have a love for the things in this world.[2] This world is also corrupted, and it will not last forever.[3]All the stuff that you collect here on earth is not carried with you after death.[4] The only thing that really counts in this world is your relationship with others and following God’s will.

Your relationship with others shows who you are. As Christians we are to love everyone equally, even our enemies: “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.”[5] Showing love is what Christ did with every action He ever took. Through love, people know us as followers of Christ.[6]

We should also make the glorifying of God our ambition. If we were to think before every action “Does this bring glory to God?”, then we would never sin. It is the same thing as “What Would Jesus Do?”. Christ gave His life in order to save ours. He showed us the ultimate form of love: to die in order to save others.[7] For this reason, should we commit our lives for His glory (however, this is not the only reason, for there are many).

We are equally guilty of driving those nails through His hands, and we should repay Him through our lives. He made His life a sacrifice, and we should sacrifice our will to His will. Following God’s will is the only way to truly get satisfaction in this world, and it is the only true ambition.

God’s Creation

As most of you know, I was in Colorado last week. Some of you went with me on this trip and saw what I saw. This was the first time I have flown in a plane and seen snow. To be quite honest, it was amazing. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. I sat there in the plane or bus just astonished at what Colorado looked like. Snow was also an interesting object to behold.

I looked at the scenery the whole trip, it was amazing. Just by seeing Colorado, I can conclude that there is a God. There is no way that stuff just formed or came into being. It was definitely created; there was thought behind it. Neither is it possible for us to be here out of chance. If you ever study anatomy you will see that the human body is very complex. There is no way that our body could have evolved itself. We did not come from monkeys, monkeys did not come from fish, and fish did not come from primal soup. Evolution is a theory based on millions and millions of chances.

Evolution has no proof. They have never found a missing link or an evolving creature. However, there is proof for a God. Look around at your world, it didn’t form on its own. This earth had to come from somewhere. A creator had to be in existence. Someone or something has to exist that is powerful enough to make multiple galaxies. Not only powerful enough, but smart enough to know how to make it and keep it from self-destructing.

Evolution is a belief that exists in a chaotic state, but our universe is not in chaos. Our universe has nine planets, ten technically, and they all have a set path. The way our universe exists is very orderly, not chaotically. If our universe was formed by the big bang, there would be no order. Look at our planets, they are all spherical. How many explosions do see create a bunch of spheres?

Evolution is just not possible. There are too many chances and absolutely no evidence. Evolution is just another way for people to escape the obvious existence of God. My dad has always said, “It takes more faith to believe in evolution than God.” After seeing Colorado and taking anatomy, I have to say that he is correct. There is no way all that occurred by random chance.

I am Leaving Friday, Bye!

Typically I don't post about my life, but this is to keep people from wondering were I went.

Well, I have been kind of busy lately, so I don’t have a post for today. Just to update everyone, I will be on a trip for the next week or so to Colorado. I leave early in the morning on Friday. I’ll be seeing some of you at the airport, and the others, see you all later.

What is Man’s Purpose?

Throughout the ages man has wondered what his purpose is. Man has tried to find his purpose in jobs, other people, conquest, religion, etc. Even with all the searching, some people have still not found what we have.

Our original purpose on this earth is to please our creator. Enoch is one of the two men recorded in the Bible to have never died. Enoch’s testimony was “that he pleased God.”[1]

We please our creator when we follow His will and do what is right. We should always follow His will. He is our creator, and He knows what is best for us. He designed us, He created us, He knows us better than we know ourselves.

“And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’”[2] Man was created in God’s image. Man prefers company over loneliness, the same is for God. God created man so that man could please God and admire what God has done. Adam and Eve would walk about in the Garden with God. This ended when Adam and Eve sinned. They ate of the forbidden tree and then lied about it. One of the things recorded of Enoch was that he “walked with God.”[3] However, he probably did not walk with God in a physical state. Enoch walked with God in a spiritual sense. For it is written “But he said, ’You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live’”[4] Adam and Eve were not aware of good and bad, so they were able to literally walk with God. However, Enoch sinned, so he was not able to walk with God in the same sense as Adam and Eve.

Enoch was able to please God similar to what man was created to do. Enoch walked with God spiritually, and we are to do the same. We do this by making God our main thought and His will our own. We need to read the Bible so God can talk to us. We need to pray in order to talk to God. I have also found it good to walk around in a quite park. Just being able to be outdoors and admire God’s handy work is a great feeling. It is one of the things that many youths today do not do enough of. I have found it to be very relaxing and humbling. Sometimes, it’s good to get away from all the stress of life, and just spend good quality time with our creator.

When I am walking around I admire the trees, the plants, animals, sea, etc. The main thing is that I keep God as my main thought the whole walk. It allows me to remember that my existence is but “a vapor”[5] and that I have a caring, intelligent creator. It will always puzzle me at God’s intelligence and wisdom, and I will always praise Him for He is my Lord, Savior, and Creator. I strive to please Him with everything that I do, but I am only human and I am not perfect.

Building Blocks

Every person who has ever walked the face of the earth has been tempted. Even Christ was tempted.[1] Temptation will always be with you, but you don’t have to give in to it. Temptation comes in all sorts of forms, but God only allows you to be tempted by things that you can handle.[2]

So how can the book of James say “My brethren, count it joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”?[3] God uses temptations and trials to mold us into a better person and a stronger utensil for God.[4] However, if you follow that temptation or do not behave Christian-like during your trial, then you will miss that blessing that God had set apart for you.

These are God’s building blocks. God allows Satan to tempt us, and if we resist, we gain a blessing. God allows us to go through various trials, and through these trials we gain experience that God can use for good later. One can not know their own strength unless they are tested.[5] Life is like a big test, but the only thing needed to pass it is believing in Christ.

Next time you are tempted, think about your future. Sure, what you are thinking might be fun or feel good, but in the long run it won’t. If you give into temptation, you feel good for a limited time, but resisting it will bring joy that will last a lot longer.

Complications?

I sit here now,
And wonder how,
Being saved is complicated?

All I have to do,
Is place my faith on You,
And I will be granted life eternal.

Even a child so small,
Can see this wondrous love,
That You gave willingly unto all.

You gave me this gift,
That once accepted,
No one can ever remove.

This gift have I taken,
Which I have not deserved,
And You expect nothing in return.

So how then now,
Can I say,
Being saved is complicated?

The Candle

At this day and age, what makes us Christians fear? Why do some of us continue to hide? What good does a candle do if it is covered?[1]

If you were wandering through the dark and you found someone who lit your candle, would you not do the same for a friend? Christians are lit candles; while the unsaved wander around in the dark. Someone reached out to us and helped light our candle, so shouldn’t we do the same? Now it is our turn to light other’s candles. One of my favorite quotes is: “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”[2] What can we lose when we light another’s candle? When we light their candle, they will light another. And so the chain will continue if we are willing.

How, you might ask. It is quite simply really, even a child can help. All you must do is follow God’s will and glorify God in everything that you do.

Glorifying God: All you have to do, is do what is right. However, we are not perfect and we fail here and there. Still, we need to try our hardest.

Following God’s will: This part may take time. For a long time I thought I couldn’t do anything because I was too young. Then I bought one of my friend’s CDs that he composed. Bane’s CD showed me that even at a young age, you can make a difference and follow God’s will (Thanks, Bane). For a while, I had prayed that God would show me his will for my current life. I read The Purpose Driven Life, but still no answer. Ironically the answer was right there in front of my face. The first month or two of school, I wrote down some scripture ideas that I wanted to share with some of my friends. Later, someone mentioned the idea of starting a blog. As you can tell, my blog is running smoothly. Finding God’s will is not always fast. Writing for my blog might also be temporary, but it is preparing me for the next stage of God’s will for my life.

I encourage all of you to find God’s calling for your life. First, find what God wants you to do now. You don’t have to be a musician or writer; there are tons of other things that God wants people to do. When we find out what God wants us to do, then we need to stick with it for as long as God wants us to do it. Secondly, find out what slot God wants you to fill with your life. What does God want you accomplish on the earth? Whether it be a truthful judge, an honest business owner, a wise teacher, a pastor, a God fearing politician, etc. you can still do God’s work.

When I finally got my blog running, it was like a burden was lifted. I had found what I had been searching for. I had blindly followed God and He led me safely to my destination. I assure you that if you find God’s will and follow it, you will not regret your decision.

A Sinking Ship

You are on a sinking ship and another ship is stopped to help but can’t stay forever. Would you not board the other ship? The other boat has enough room for everyone, so what is holding you back? Why would you go down with the ship?

This is what is happening in everyone’s life. At some point you will decide whether or not to board that other ship. That other ship is the ship of Jesus Christ. You do not know the day of your death, so make your decision now before that ship passes by. Satan’s ship is sinking, and him and his crew wish to keep as many people on their ship as possible. Don’t let Satan take you to the bottom with him.

How do we get to the other ship? All you have to do is put your faith on Jesus Christ. Over 2000 years ago, Christ was born. He is the son of God and was crucified for our sins. He rose again the third day and is now waiting for us in Heaven. If you believe that He is your king and salvation, then you will be saved.[1]
